Carman Louise Lapointe, CIA, CCSA, CFE
Carman Louise Lapointe is the under-secretary-general for Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) at the United Nations. She has also held various Chief Audit Executive positions in Canadian Federal Crown Corporations.
Carman was the International Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors ("IIA") Inc., (1994-1995). She currently serves as The IIA's representative to international Federation of Accountants' Task Force revising auditing standard 610 on using the work of Internal Auditors. She was key contributor to The IIA's role in helping develop COSO's original Internal Control Integrated Framework. She also assissted in the development of the Certification in Control Self-Assessment.
Robert Haldane Smith, Lord Smith of Kelvin
Robert Haldane Smith, Lord Smith of Kelvin is one of the United Kindom's leading voices on governance issues. He has raised the boardroom profile and status of internal auditing when he chaired the Financial Reporting Council Group which produced the "Guidelines for Audit Committees 2003 - The Smith Report". The latter was incorporated into the revised "Combined Code on Corporate Governance" which formed the basis of governance code including Malaysia. His interview entitled "Standing Tall" appeared in the April 2006 Internal Auditors Magazine and was the inspiration for this 2011 Conference theme.
Lord Smith is currently Chairman of two FTSE100 companies - Scottish & Southern Energy and The Weir Group Ltd, the Chancellor of the University of the West of Scotland and was appointed to the House of Lords in 2008.

Richard Chambers (Moderator)
Richard Chambers CIA, CGAP, CCSA, leverages his more than 35 years of internal audit and related experience in his current role as president and CEO of The IIA Global Headquarters. He previously served as national practice leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers and spent a majority of his career in the public sector. Chambers held various internal audit positions with the U.S. General Accounting Office (now the Government Accountability Office) and served as inspector general of several public agencies such as the U.S. Postal Service and U.S. Army Worldwide. He currently serves on the Board of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission and previously served on the U.S. President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency. Chambers received the Association of Government Accountants’ Frank Greathouse Distinguished Leadership Award in 2010.
